These are what I consider to be the most traditional way to cook
Morels. VERY tasty, and simple to do. (Don't know what Morel's are? Take a look
at this guide.)
| Morel Mushrooms (about 3/4 a pound pictured) | Crushed Crackers (I use Ritz) | |
| Garlic to taste | ||
| 1+ Stick of butter | ||
| Salt and Pepper to taste | ||
| Tbs. Parsley | ||
| 5 Eggs |
| Take the crackers and crush them. I usually use a plastic bag and a empty wine bottle (just role it over the bag, until it's very fine, like pictured here). Add salt, pepper and Garlic to taste (just a sprinkle of each). |
| Coat the Morels with the mixed eggs. |
| Dredge the Morels in the cracker mixture. |
| Melt the butter in the pan, and add the Morels over medium heat. Keep turning them, until the are golden brown, like this. |
| These are great by themselves, or as a side dish. While most of these Morel dishes were made for a dinner party, I actually made a first batch of these the night before, as they are really great. |
